Mining Rules Hearings Well Attended

The Mining Journal reports that as many as 300 residents attended the public hearing on new mining rules at Northern Michigan University. Many proposed changes and offered opinions to the Department of Environmental Quality. The new rules will regulate precious and polymetallic mining in Michigan. Iron mining will continue to be governed by decades-old regulations.
