UP Sled Dog Race this Weekend

The Mining Journal reports that the annual U.P. 200 Sled Dog Championship starts in in downtown Marquette at 7 PM this Friday. The 240-mile race has mushers racing to Grand Marais and returning to finish at Mattson Lower Harbor Park in Marquette Sunday morning. Organizers say trails are in good shape. The National Weather Service is forecasting cold temps (good for the dogs) & snow (not so good).
