Granholm to Announce Scholarship Changes in State of the State
The Detroit Free Press reports that Gov. Jennifer Granholm is expected to announce additional funds for college students in her State of the State speech Wednesday night. The governor and Senate have a plan to revamp the Michigan Merit Scholarship to increase the total money for students to $4,000 (currently $2,500), with half given during their first 2 years of college and the rest afterward.
