The Lansing State Journal reports that there are 1.75 million whitetail deer roaming the state, and experts warn that October through December is the most dangerous time for car-deer collisions. Nearly half of all deer-related crashes occur in this mating and hunting season. Last year, 62,707 motorists were involved in car-deer crashes, resulting in three deaths and 1,647 injuries.
