Deer Herd Down in 2005

The Cadillac News reports that the deer herd in Lake and Wexford counties is down 44% and 33%. Statewide, the deer herd is between 1.6 and 1.7 million and the 2005 hunt is expected to be similar to or slightly below last year's 450,000.
